Description
Ranking-1000 tournaments are organised by the Swiss Judo Federation (SJV).
These tournaments follow the so-called "knockout system", where each competitor is paired in matches, and the winner of each match advances to the next round while the loser is eliminated from the tournament. This process continues until only one competitor remains, who is declared the champion.
Usually, there is a "repechage" system, meaning when your first opponent advances to quarter-finals, you have the chance to fight again and even win bronze.
It's a competition suitable for experienced fighters, as there's a higher chance of being eliminated sooner.
